Job: Repair a cigarette burn on the seating cushion on a Ivory leather sofa
Process: Cut the burn half out using the scalpel to release the tension. Fill the hole using the leather repair compound and then apply colour to the leather to hide the repair.

Furniture: 3 Seater Leather Sofa
Job: Repair a large tear on the back of a 3 seater sofa.
Process: The first step is to place the canvas sub patch in place and then glue it to the leather. The large gap in-between is the filled in thin layers and then colour is applied with a sponge at first and then sprayed on. We used a leather colourant kit this time because the damage was large and so needed to be sprayed.

Furniture: Chesterfield Arm Chair
Job: Repair split and fill cracking
Process: The split is repaired using the basic repair kit in the normal way. The leather repair compound is then smoothed over the cracking using a palette knife to fill the cracks. It is left to dry and then re-applied until level with the leather. Once thoroughly set the compound is then sanded down using a piece of fine sandpaper. The colour is then re-applied by spray application to match the pattern of the rest of the leather.

Job: Repair 2 cuts in the leather caused by a Stanley knife.
Process: The cut is repaired using the basic repair kit in the normal way, the canvas sub patch is inserted behind the leather and then glued into place. Stick both sides of the cut as close together as possible here. If it sticks tightly together then that’s the job done. If not, use the repair compound to fill the gap and then apply colour over it using a colour repair kit.
